BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO HOPELANDS - FAST START & TIPS
Welcome to New Hope UO! Whether you are a veteran Ultima Online player or stepping into Britannia for the first time, this guide will help you get established quickly and efficiently.
1. Character Creation & Starting Location
- When you create your character, you will spawn in the grand capital of Valdris.
- Valdris is the central hub of trade, banking, and portals.
- You will start with starter gold, basic weapons, and your starting spellbook/equipment in your backpack.
2. Server Caps & Stat Progression
- Skill Cap: 700.0 (7x GM)
- Stat Cap: 225 Total (Individual cap: 125 Str, 125 Dex, 125 Int)
- No Pay-to-Win: Every power scroll, item, and resource is earned through gameplay!
3. Making Your First Gold
- Lumberjacking & Mining: Chop trees around Valdris or mine the mountain ridges. Vendors buy logs and ingots at healthy rates.
- Graveyard & Low Dungeons: Visit the local graveyards or Level 1-2 Dungeon areas for quick gold and magic jewelry.
- Dungeon Chests: If you have Lockpicking and Remove Trap, search for dungeon chests scattered across all dungeons!
